Dreadlocked forward Brian Muluuli Mayanja has left Uganda Premier League side Police Football Club for Tanzania Premier League outfit Mtibwa Sugar on a one and half year contract.

Muluuli has been a free agent since mutually terminating his employment contract with the 2005 league champions and 2006 CECAFA Clubs Cup winners.

Mayanja joined Abdallah Mubiru’s coached side in the mid of 2020/2021 season from FUFA Big League side Kitara Football Club.

By the time of his departure, he managed to score three goals for Police this 2021/22 season coming through in victories against Busoga United (3-1) and Tooro United (1-3). The other was a consolation as Police lost 2-1 to BUL FC on match day two.

He is the third January transfer signing for Mtibwa Sugar after Jeremiah Kisubi, who joined on loan from giants Simba Sports Club alongside Congolese national Deo Kanda.

However, Muluuli is the second Ugandan to join the Tanzania Premier League in the mid season transfer window after former Proline forward Diego Hamis Kiiza who was yesterday unveiled at Kagera Sugar.
