Attacking midfielder Juma Balinya scored and assisted as Police continued to arrest their worsening Uganda Premier League form with the second win of the season at embattled Tooro United on Monday afternoon.

Brian Muluuli Mayanja also put his name on the score sheet with his third goal of this particular campaign before skipper Tony Mawejje put the last nail in the coffin at Buhinga stadium in Fortportal.

Mark Nsubuga converted from the spot to reduce on the deficit, however, his second penalty was kept out by goalkeeper Tom Ikara as the hosts suffered their 10th defeat with twelve games played.

Missing their suspended head coach Abdallah Mubiru on the touchline for the sixth game, Police started the game on a high and prodigal son Balinya set-up dreadlocked forward Muluuli who headed home after ten minutes.

Tooro United would then equalize through Mark Nsubuga’s well converted penalty after 22 minutes following foul play by the Cops in the forbidden area.

In the 32nd minute, robust striker Muluuli teed up Balinya who pocked home past goalie Lukyamuzi Kenneth to restore the visitors’ lead.

Seven minutes after game restart, Balinya expertly teed up eventual man of the match and skipper Mawejje who tapped home to ensure Police arrests Tooro United in own backyard.

As the game descended into Tooro United mayhem, goalkeeper Ikara stretched to spill Nsubuga’s penalty when Joseph Sentume had handled the ball in the box.

The defeat left Tooro United o rock bottom with four points. They will visit SC Villa next Monday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Whereas the win on the road moved Police out of the relegation zone. The 2005 champions are now 13th with nine points. Police will host Soltilo Bright Stars next week on Wednesday in Lugogo.
