• Onduparaka 1-1 Express
Halftime substitute Enoch Ssebaggala received marching orders as 10-man Express denied win for Onduparaka in a scoring stalemate at the Greenlight stadium, Arua on Tuesday.
Ssebaggala came from bench in the 17th minute as a replacement for John Toki Byamukama and was initially cautioned for a foul 17 minutes past the hour mark.
He received his second yellow card as the game approached it’s final bend when he pulled Onduparaka’s Jimmy Ndalambi in the middle of the park going for an early shower. The Eagles held nerves for a hard fought point.
Forward Shaban Muhammad had given the Caterpillars an early lead after nine minutes pouncing on a poorly spilled ball by goalkeeper Dennis Otim who failed to deal with Emmanuel Oketch’s initial attempt.
Robust winger Godfrey Lwesibawa would later draw Express level with a clinical half volley after being set-up by a striker Eric Kenzo Kambale’s brilliantly headed ball after 27 minutes.
Shaban had a chance to win it late for Onduparaka but his effort was denied by the woodwork at the death before both settled for less.
The draw sees Onduparaka advance to the 11th position with 9 points after eight games. The Caterpillars will play host to on form Wakiso Giants next week on Tuesday.
While Express remains unbeaten with 12 points in the 6th place and will welcome Mbarara City at the Mutesa II stadium in Wankulukuku on the same day.
