The Ministry of Health has asked medical workers to wait for parliament to finalize the allocation of over 70 billion shillings that will go towards increasing salaries. Permanent Secretary Dr Diana Atwine says the delay was caused by processes with the public finance Management Act which she adds, the medical workers are aware of. The government’s response comes a day after the Uganda Medical Association repeated their threat to lay down their tools if the matter is not sorted by 6th November.
