The Uganda Police has joined the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to design guidelines to work jointly when investigating sexual offenses of defilement and rape right from their inception. The move is aimed at producing credible reports with reliable evidence warranting a successful prosecution of cases in the courts of law. This comes at a time when defilement cases are on the rise since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020.
